WIPO has developed a number of online tools for document conversion and validation that are integrated in ePCT.

Standalone versions of those tools are made available below, for example, to validate PDF documents prior to upload in ePCT to check if they pass the validations made by the system at the time of upload or whether they require correction before upload. It is also possible to simulate the conversion from DOCX to XML format made by ePCT at the time of upload for certain document types such as the application body (specification) and amended claims under Article 19.

DOCX format is typically used in ePCT for the application body (specification) at the time of filing and results in the maximum fee reduction compared with PDF format.
